Secures massive $15.1 billion funding for CP2 LNG project in Louisiana by Venture Global
In a significant development, Venture Global has announced the final investment decision for the first phase of its third greenfield project, CP2 LNG, located in Louisiana. The project is set to become the largest exporter of US LNG upon completion.
The project financing for CP2 stands at an impressive $15.1 billion, making it the largest standalone project financing to date. This milestone was achieved after Venture Global executed over $80 billion in capital markets transactions to date.
The CP2 LNG development will have a peak production capacity of 28 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). Once completed, it will significantly boost the US's LNG export capabilities.
Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global, made a statement about the project, announcing the FID and the closing of $15.1 billion in financing for phase I of the CP2 LNG project in Louisiana.
