A well-known Scottish actor, named Brian McCardie, passed away suddenly on April 28th, aged 59. The news was shared by his sister Sarah McCardie and other sources such as X. According to Sarah, Brian was very devoted to his career and had an impressive impact on people's lives but left us too soon. His family, including his sister, is now devastated by the unexpected loss.

McCardie's Notable Roles

Brian McCardie hails from North Lanarkshire, Scotland and discovered his love for acting during his school years. He gained recognition through his performances in the movie "Rob Roy" (1995) alongside actors like Liam Neeson (71) and in the action film "Speed 2: Cruise Control" (1997), where he co-starred with Sandra Bullock (59). Another notable achievement was his portrayal of the Scottish footballer Dave Mackay (1934-2015) in the 2009 drama "The Damned United".

In addition to his success on the big screen, McCardie saw success on TV series. In the crime show "Line of Duty", he portrayed powerful criminal boss Tommy Hunter. He also took on the role of First Officer William M. Murdoch (1873-1912) in the mini-series "Titanic" (2012). Fans of the show "Outlander" will also remember him as Sir Marcus MacRan, and he was also involved in the filming of the upcoming prequel "Blood of My Blood".
