The BMW Motorrad division has unveiled a new electric vehicle concept, the BMW Vision CE scooter, before the opening of the IAA Mobility in Munich. This innovative creation is a reimagining of past experiences in creating similar structures by BMW, and a reinterpretation of the BMW C1 concept.

Unlike the BMW C1, which was produced at the beginning of the millennium and had a gasoline engine, the BMW Vision CE is an electric vehicle. The focus of this scooter is not on top speed or 0-60 acceleration, but rather on creating a versatile and adaptable ride.

The BMW Vision CE features wide tires that allow it to move on surfaces other than asphalt, such as a desert surface reminiscent of the Bonneville Salt Flats in the US. This off-road capability is made possible by the scooter's frame, which runs from the handlebars to the rear part of the seat, allowing for the attachment of additional features such as headlights, a rain roof, or luggage boxes.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the BMW Vision CE is its ability to maintain balance on its own when stationary. This feature eliminates the need for a kickstand, adding to the overall sleekness of the design.

Riding the BMW Vision CE scooter does not require special equipment, including a helmet in some cases. This accessibility is in line with BMW's commitment to making electric vehicles more accessible to the masses.

It's important to note that the BMW Vision CE is a concept, not a production model. Technical details of the scooter have not been provided at this time.

BMW has a history of innovation in the scooter market. The company introduced its first electric scooter in 2014, and the BMW C1 scooter, though produced earlier, was also a pioneering design. Former BMW chief designer Chris Bangle was even spotted riding a BMW C1 scooter around Moscow accompanied by students from the Stroganov Academy.

The Munich International Motor Show, where the BMW Vision CE was unveiled, is trying to replace the Frankfurt Auto Show in recent years. With the introduction of groundbreaking concepts like the BMW Vision CE, it's clear that the show is living up to its reputation as a hub for automotive innovation.
