Schröder encountering racist slurs revealed

The German basketball team continues its dominance on the sporting front, securing a spot in the Riga finals of the Euro Championship after three wins. However, their latest game against Lithuania presented a unique challenge.

By halftime, Lithuania had narrowed the gap to eight points, indicating a tougher match than their previous victories. The team faced more resistance, but managed to pull through with a 107:88 win.

Dennis Schröder, the team's captain, was the standout player, scoring 26 points. His performance, coupled with Daniel Theis' impressive display, was instrumental in Germany's victory. Theis, a friend of Schröder, scored 23 points, making all nine of his shots, and provided strong defense.

However, the game was marred by an unfortunate incident. Schröder reported racist heckling during the game, with monkey chants directed at him as he entered the locker room after the dominant win. The heckling was condemned by all, with Coach Alan Ibrahimagic expressing disapproval and Federation President Ingo Weiss stating that racism has no place in basketball or anywhere else.

Two individuals were identified and removed from the Nokia Arena following the incident. Despite the disturbance, the game was an open duel at a high offensive level. Andreas Obst, another key player, contributed with several three-pointers.

As for the upcoming games, there is no information available about the German basketball national team playing against Latvia on Monday, August 15, 2022. The team has already secured a spot in the round of 16, setting their sights on the Riga finals.
