School vacations quash monotony, instead offering an array of opportunities for exploration and relaxation.
During the summer holidays, the Kinzing School in Neuwied, Germany, offered an exciting array of educational activities for its students, with a focus on human evolution at Museum Monrepos.
This year, 30 students from various grades participated in these enriching activities, which have been running for 15 years. The programme, designed to engage students even during the break from traditional schooling, provides a broad range of educational experiences.
One of the highlights of the holiday activities was the visit to Museum Monrepos, where students learned about human evolution. The school's cooperation with the school social work ensured that these activities were accessible to children from families who might not otherwise be able to afford them.
The financial support for these activities came from the Stiftung Kinderzukunft (Children's Future Foundation), Sparkasse Neuwied, Bauhaus Neuwied, and the Lions Club Andernach.
The educational content of the holiday activities expanded to include human evolution at Museum Monrepos. The students gained valuable insights into this fascinating topic, enhancing their understanding of human evolution.
The holiday activities at the Kinzing School are not part of the regular school routine. Instead, they allow students to shape their free time according to their own wishes and ideas, but within a school context. This approach offers a refreshing change from the usual school routine, making learning more enjoyable and interactive.
In addition to the visit to Museum Monrepos, the holiday activities included excursions to the Deichwelle water park and the zoo. These activities provided a diverse learning experience, offering something for everyone.
The holiday activities at the Kinzing School aim to offer an alternative for students who would rather forget about school during the summer. By making learning engaging and fun, they successfully manage to keep students interested and motivated, even during the summer holidays.
