A black Ford Tourneo slammed into the glass front of Martin-Luther-King-Gesamtschule in Marl, North Rhine-Westphalia. The driver (21) was able to escape the vehicle on his own and was taken to the hospital.
It's uncertain why the man lost control of the van. But police suspect he was intoxicated, as they've taken a blood sample for testing.
During the investigation, it came to light that he was involved in another traffic accident just before this one and had fled from that scene as well. The total damage is currently being assessed.
