In the heart of Düsseldorf, the annual Professors' Breakfast kicked off the city's carnival season with a vibrant display of music, dance, and camaraderie.

Prince Felix and his consort Ida Marit, the children's prince and princess of the Unterrather Funken, opened the program, setting the tone for a fun-filled day. The event was led by Dennis Vobis, who ensured the proceedings ran smoothly and the guests were entertained throughout.

The Narrencollegium, a renowned group known for their class, wit, and subtle humour, made their debut at the breakfast with their float. Initially criticised by TÜV, the float received clearance after a concerted effort by skilled hands. The float, however, will remain empty at Rosenmontag as Vobis will moderate the parade from the stage at Corneliusplatz.

The Narrencollegium's float was pushed along by Awista in the parade, and the group's performance was interspersed with musical interludes provided by Gustav and Sven from the Golden Boys. The program also featured performances from the dance group Blau-Weiß Büdereich, the duo Dubb, the Düsseldorf citizen guard with their children's prince couple, the Närrischen Schmetterlinge, Max Weyers, and the Burggrafen couple of the Düsseldorf Nordlichter with the Aquila Dance Team.

Ehrengarde Düsseldorf performed a song during the event, and the consort Evelyn determined the order of the participating societies in the parade, giving each group their moment in the spotlight.

The event was not without its dramatic moments. Vobis had a score to settle with the consort Evelyn during the event, leading to a public apology and an immediate reconciliation. Paula Becker from Jülich, a newcomer to Düsseldorf, received much applause for her enthusiasm for Killepitsch and her jab at test tube beer drinkers.

However, the event was tinged with a note of sadness. The companion of the prince looked visibly sad, with repeated search results suggesting a context of mourning or emotional pain behind her expression.

As the Professors' Breakfast came to a close, the city of Düsseldorf was set to continue its carnival celebrations, with Vobis set to join the parade after moderating it. The carnival season promises to be a memorable one, filled with music, dance, and the unique spirit of Düsseldorf.
