SBC Awards Europe 2024: Peter & Sons, Play'n GO Shine in Malta's Gaming Gala

The SBC Awards Europe event in Malta has crowned this year’s top gaming studios and titles. Peter & Sons led the night with two major wins, while Play’n GO and Pragmatic Play also took home key awards.

The ceremony highlighted innovation in game design, sound, and mechanics across different company sizes. Peter & Sons secured the Game Studio of the Year title in the small category. Their success didn’t stop there—they also won Best Game Soundtrack for Barbarossa: Dragon Empire. This made them the only studio to claim two awards at the event.

Play’n GO’s Reactoonz 100 slot was named Game of the Year. The title beat strong competition, including Evoplay Entertainment’s Uncrossable Rush, which finished in second place. Meanwhile, Creedroomz took first in Game Design & Art Direction with The Road to Eldorado.

Other winners included Spribe, whose Aviator game won Best Crash Game. TaDa Gaming was recognised for its Win Card gamification tool, earning Game Feature/Mechanic of the Year. In the studio categories, Pragmatic Play won Game Studio of the Year (large), while Hacksaw Gaming claimed the medium category title. The awards celebrated creativity and technical skill in the gaming industry. Peter & Sons stood out with two victories, while Play’n GO and Pragmatic Play reinforced their positions as leading developers. The event highlighted both established names and rising talent in European game design.
