Sandwich Jamboree: A Celebration at Bocata Fest
Get ready, food lovers! The much-anticipated Bocata Fest is back in Fuengirola, Spain, on the 29th and 30th of August. This year's edition promises a delightful culinary experience, brought to you by the Fuengirola Council and supported by various sponsors, including Sabor a Málaga, Turismo Andaluz, Bioparc, ARS Impresores, Comerco, and more.
The festival, which is part of Marenostrum Fuengirola, will take place at the majestic Castillo Sohail. From 7.30pm to 2am, you'll have the opportunity to indulge in a variety of gourmet sandwiches crafted by seven renowned Malaga chefs.
Among the participating chefs are Dani García, known for his "Pata Negra Bocata," and Kisko García, famous for his "Steak & Foie Bocata." Daniela Romero from Alma Playa will serve a Crystal Chapata with chicharrones, truffle, and Payoyo cheese, while Reyna Traverso from Taquería Ensenada will offer a Gluten-free Torta Ahogada with beef birria.
Moreover, Diego René from Beluga is creating a BBQ Rib Brioche sandwich, and Mario Céspedes from Ronda 14 is offering a Choripán Criollo with green mojo and rocoto. Don't forget to try Daniel García Peinado from Bien Frito's Pepito with shredded meat, Canarian mojo, aged cheese, and mango chutney.
But that's not all! The festival will also feature an international street food zone, offering a diverse range of options like carbonara churros, gluten-free cochinita pibil quesadillas, guacamole with totopos, tequeñísimos, and shredded chicken arepas with ají.
To sweeten the deal, Yummy will serve lactose- and gluten-free ice creams, and Brownie & Olive offers artisanal brownies made with extra virgin olive oil.
Aside from the delicious food, Bocata Fest will also offer a fashion and crafts night market, Tattoo sessions by La Revuelta, and a "best sandwich" voting contest. To top it off, each night will feature free live concerts on the Fundación Unicaja stage.
Tickets for this unmissable event are available on the Bocata Fest and Marenostrum Fuengirola websites, with limited promotional packages available while supplies last. So, mark your calendars for the 29th and 30th of August and get ready to embark on a gastronomic journey at Bocata Fest!
