Sanam Luang in Bangkok undergoes extensive refurbishment in preparation for upcoming end-of-year celebrations.

Sanam Luang, a historic public square in Bangkok's Phra Nakhon district, will undergo a significant renovation from August 25 to November 15. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is responsible for this extensive makeover, with the Fine Arts Department overseeing the renovation of Sanam Luang.

The renovation aims to improve the condition of Sanam Luang, which has deteriorated due to prolonged use. The focus will be on restoring the lawn and parking areas of the park. During the renovation period, the lawn will be off-limits, but the BMA is considering provisions for general public use, such as exercise and recreational activities.

The BMA is also reviewing plans to allocate space for major year-end activities, including National Father's Day and New Year celebrations. Areas will be set aside for government, private sector, and public use during the renovation period.

Mr. Kosol, the Phra Nakhon district director, stated that updates will be communicated once plans are finalized. The BMA is responsible for communicating these updates through official channels. The Phra Nakhon district director is involved in the communication of updates about the renovation plans.

The Phra Nakhon district is undergoing a major renovation from August 25 to November 15, with the parking area closing from September 16 to November 13. It's important to note that the renovation period does not affect the allocation of space for major year-end activities.

Once plans are finalized, updates will be communicated through official BMA and Phra Nakhon district office channels. The BMA's Department of Public Works will oversee the renovation work.

The renovation is in preparation for several major year-end events, ensuring that Sanam Luang remains a vibrant and beautiful space for the community to enjoy.
