Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Preliminary Review: The Budget-Friendly Premium Device Packed with Impressive Features

Samsung has announced the latest addition to its popular FE series, the Galaxy S25 FE. The device, set to be available for pre-order from September 4, 2025, promises a blend of power, design, and AI capabilities that make it a compelling choice for consumers.

Power and Performance

The Galaxy S25 FE is powered by the Samsung-made Exynos 2800 chipset and 8GB of RAM, ensuring smooth performance and quick response times. It boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering vibrant colours and smooth visuals.

Design and Battery Life

Design improvements have resulted in a phone that is 8% thinner and 11% lighter than its predecessor, the S24 FE. Despite the slimmer, lighter design, the Galaxy S25 FE features a larger battery - a 4,900mAh battery, the largest battery Samsung has put in a FE handset. This, coupled with 45W charging, promises extended usage times and quick recharging.

AI Capabilities

The Galaxy S25 FE is positioned as the gateway to the latest and most powerful Galaxy AI experiences. It features the Now Bar & Now Brief, a personalized and context-aware AI that delivers helpful, relevant information. Additionally, a personal data core learns usage patterns and what the user accesses and when, providing a more personalized experience.

Camera and Other Features

The Galaxy S25 FE sports a triple rear camera setup: a 12MP ultra-wide, a 50MP wide angle, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The front camera has been upgraded, with a 20% boost in resolution compared to the S24 FE.

The device also features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back, an Enhanced Armor Aluminum frame, and retains its power share feature, allowing it to wirelessly charge other devices. However, it does not have MagSafe compatibility.

Warranty and Pricing

Samsung guarantees seven years of OS upgrades and security updates for the Galaxy S25 FE, a testament to its commitment to long-term support. The Galaxy S25 FE will be available in three storage options: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, with prices starting at $649.99, $799.99, and $999.99 respectively.

The Galaxy S25 FE is the first Samsung phone to ship with OneUI 8, the latest interface overlaid on Android 16. It also supports 15W Qi2 wireless charging but does not have MagSafe compatibility.

In conclusion, the Galaxy S25 FE offers a compelling combination of power, design, and AI capabilities, making it an attractive option for consumers looking for a high-performance smartphone. With its larger battery, improved screen-to-body ratio, and personalized AI features, the Galaxy S25 FE promises to deliver a premium smartphone experience.
