Saint Joseph Brotherhood invites all to their fair, scheduled from the 12th to the 15th of September.
Get ready for an unforgettable weekend as the small town of Venn, Germany, prepares to host its annual folk and homeland festival from September 12th to 15th. Here's what you can expect:
The festival, which was originally scheduled for March, has been rescheduled to September. The festivities will take place on the Mürrigerplatz, the Kalvarienberg, and in the Gasthof Loers.
King Marcel Reinhard and his ministers, Junior King David Classen, Schülerprinz Elias Hillekamp, and their respective knights, will participate in the festival throughout the long weekend.
On Saturday, September 13th, the musical Frühschoppen with the Original Duiser Blasmusik takes place in the festival tent at 2 pm. Later that day, the festival parade marches through Venn and ends back in the tent at 5:30 pm. At 7:45 pm, a serenade in front of the Venner church will follow. The king's ball with "Teamwork" takes place in the festival tent from 8 pm (10 euros at the box office).
Sunday, September 14th, is packed with events. The large festival parade with shooting friends from several locations takes place at 10:30 am at the parish church in Venn. A music parade and the display of magnificent flower horns take place before the large festival parade. The new junior king will be determined from 12:30 pm. In the evening, the ball of all local kings takes place in the festival tent at 7:45 pm.
The festivities conclude on Monday, September 15th, with the traditional Klompenball. The future king's bird shot begins at 11 am, followed by the ball at 12 pm. The final party to mark the end of the fair, "Kraball and Remmidemmi", begins in the festival tent at 8 pm.
Throughout the festival, various musical acts will provide entertainment. "Plutonium", "Teamwork", "Party-Express Cologne", DJ Marc, DJ Chris, and Ben Müller will perform at various events during the festival. Erftblech, the Hardter Blasmusik, and the Instrumentalverein Kirchhoven will provide brass music during the festival.
Ulrich Willekes, as honorary president of the brotherhood, is responsible for collections for this charitable action. The St. Josef brotherhood has chosen the association "Zwerg Nase" as their social project for 2025.
The Venner shooting family, including president Jürgen Zimmermanns, is looking forward to welcoming you to the festival. The Tambourcorps Lürrip 1928, the BundesschützenTambourcorps "Mit vereinten Kräften" Wickrath, and the Bettrather Tambourcorps 2014 e.V. will perform in the parades.
