In the heart of Mogadouro, a village nestled in the rugged beauty of Portugal, a new culinary gem is about to open its doors. The Barraço, a traditional establishment focusing on local cuisine, is set to inaugurate on Friday, 29th.

The Barraço, owned by Ana Maria Fonseca, specialises in traditional products and recipes of the region. The food is prepared over an open fire, in a wood-fired oven, or in a pot, just as it was in the time of Ana Maria's grandfather and chef, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday on the same day.

Ana Maria is the driving force behind the unique food preparation methods at the Barraço. She honours her family's culinary traditions by using traditional products and recipes, ensuring each dish carries the flavours of the past.

The inauguration of the Barraço is a significant event not only for Ana Maria but for the entire village of Azinhoso. It's a tribute to her family history and a celebration of the region's rich culinary heritage. During the inauguration, Ana Maria's grandfather and chef will be honoured, making it a special day for all.

Fernando, the owner of the Barraço, is excited about the upcoming event. He said, "We've been working hard to prepare for this day, and we can't wait to share our traditional dishes with the community and visitors alike."

The Barraço promises to be a must-visit destination for those seeking an authentic taste of Portugal. With its focus on local cuisine and traditional cooking methods, it's set to become a beloved institution in Azinhoso, Mogadouro. So, mark your calendars for Friday, 29th, and join Ana Maria and Fernando in celebrating the flavours of the past at the Barraço.
