Russian Post's business clients can now access VTB's B2B payment services, expanding its reach to approximately 150,000 companies.
In a significant move for the Russian e-commerce sector, Russian Post and VTB Bank have collaborated to launch a new service that allows companies to instantly replenish their Russian Post balance via the Quick Payment System. This service, which prioritises speed and seamless processes, is set to revolutionise B2B payments in the public sector.
The most popular region for companies using this service is the Central Federal District, accounting for a third of all connected companies. The Volga Federal District comes in second with 16.3%, followed by the Northwestern Federal District with 14.9%.
The service works by allowing clients to log into their personal account on the Russian Post website, select the "Balance Replenishment" section, and specify the transfer amount. A payment link and QR code for the transfer are generated automatically, helping to avoid errors in B2B payments because all data in the system is automatically filled in. The funds are credited to the Russian Post account at VTB in real-time.
This project, according to Igor Ostreyko, head of VTB's transactional business department, is one of the largest cases of implementing digital B2B payments in the public sector. Anton Nechaev, director of product and service development at Russian Post, commented that the new instant payment method allows new Russian Post clients to make their first shipment immediately after registration.
Russian Post introduced non-cash payments between legal entities using the System for Transfer of Funds (SBP) in the e-commerce segment in July 2025. The service is currently available in all 82 regional postal management units across Russia. However, specific companies from Magadan collaborating with Russian Post and VTB Bank on the new instant payment system for automatic account replenishment in the personal cabinet of Russian Post are not publicly disclosed.
The service enables legal entities to pay for goods and services from Russian Post round-the-clock, providing businesses with instant, non-cash payments. This is the first time a logistics company in Russia has introduced such a service in the e-commerce segment. Speed and seamless processes are a priority for Russian Post clients and the company itself, making this service a significant step forward in the digital transformation of the Russian postal service.
