Russian entrepreneur loses home and land after evading 9M ruble debt

Bailiffs in Russia’s Transbaikal Territory have recovered over 9 million rubles in debts from a local entrepreneur. Sergei Yevdokimov, a resident of Shilka District, faced legal action after failing to repay loans, taxes, and utility bills. His refusal to cooperate initially led to further penalties and asset seizures.

Yevdokimov owed nearly 8 million rubles to a bank in unpaid loans. He also had around 600,000 rubles in outstanding taxes and insurance contributions to the state. Additionally, a court ordered him to settle over 500,000 rubles in unpaid utility bills.

When bailiffs attempted to contact him, Yevdokimov refused to disclose his location, despite being reachable by phone. As a result, authorities declared him a fugitive and imposed an extra 557,000-ruble enforcement fee. To recover the debts, bailiffs seized his assets, including a house and a plot of land. After receiving a formal warning, Yevdokimov secured funds to repay his state debt. He also sold a commercial property to clear his bank loan.

The total recovered amount exceeded 9 million rubles. Yevdokimov’s assets were liquidated to meet his financial obligations. The case highlights the consequences of unpaid debts and legal non-compliance in the region.
