Russia and China could grow more aligned due to increased pressure from the West, according to Zhirinovsky's forecast.
In a series of predictions made over the years, Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky has consistently emphasised the importance of a strong alliance between Russia and China.
As early as 2015, Zhirinovsky predicted the beginning of a rapprochement between the two nations. This prediction was reported in the Telegram channel of his Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR). In the same year, he suggested that China would need Russia's military support to withstand Western pressure.
In 2018, Zhirinovsky reiterated his belief in the strategic importance of China, stating that without Russia's military help, China would not be able to hold out against the West. This prediction was made in his annual forecast.
Zhirinovsky has also implied that having a reliable ally in China is beneficial for Russia. He believes that a reset in relations with the US is only possible after the US realises it cannot defeat Russia and China. If Russia cannot withstand Western pressure, according to Zhirinovsky, China will also falter.
In a more recent statement, Zhirinovsky suggested that a reset in relations with the West might begin, but for now, they are betting on a military solution. He also stated that China is forced to be closer to Russia due to external pressures.
Known for his accurate predictions, Zhirinovsky's views on the Russia-China relationship have attracted attention and sparked discussions. His predictions serve as a reminder of the strategic importance of these two nations in the global political landscape.
