The image shows a group of children standing next to each other on a basketball court, each holding a paper bag in their hands. On the right side of the image, there are bags and other objects placed on the ground, and on the left side there is a board with some text on it. In the background, there is fencing, poles, street lights, electric poles with wires, trees, buildings, hills and the sky, suggesting that the children are participating in a program to help children with disabilities.

Rödermark's first childcare conference unites educators for stress management and quality talks

Rödermark's Department of Children and Youth recently held its first Professional Childcare Conference. The event brought together educators from daycare centres and nurseries across the town. Organisers described the response as overwhelming, with strong participation from both municipal and independent facilities. The idea for the conference came from Jessica Müller, head of the department. She gained approval from Social Affairs Councilor Andrea Schulner and First City Councilor Susanne Kaludra before moving forward. Planning involved input from pedagogical advisor Sabina Sokic and team assistant Mejra Berovic, who helped shape the programme.

One highlight was a keynote speech by psychiatrist and psychotherapist Dr. Tatjana Reichhart. She addressed the challenges of stress management in childcare work. Later, comedian Jan Preuss—a former educator himself—provided a lighter moment with a humorous performance aimed at easing tension. The conference also featured discussions on quality assurance in daycare settings. Attendees explored ways to improve standards and support staff. Additionally, a digital survey was introduced for municipal facilities, allowing educational teams to share feedback and suggestions. First City Councilor Andrea Schulner took the opportunity to recognise the dedication of early childhood professionals. She praised their daily efforts in supporting young children and families.

The event marked a first for Rödermark's childcare sector. Educators left with new insights on stress management, quality processes, and team collaboration. Organisers now plan to review survey results and consider next steps for future conferences.
