Rock band Radiohead is set to perform in Berlin for a series of concerts within Germany.
In an exciting development for music fans, British rock band Radiohead is set to return to Germany this year for a series of highly-anticipated concerts. The shows will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin on December 8, 9, 11, and 12.
This tour marks a significant return for the band after a seven-year hiatus, and fans eager to secure tickets for these long-awaited performances will need to act quickly. Registrations for ticket purchases begin on September 5 at 11:00 AM German time, and interested parties are advised to sign up on the official Radiohead website without delay. Registrations will close after 72 hours.
The actual ticket sale will commence on September 12, following the registration period. It's important to note that these concerts are organised by the record label Beggars Group.
While Radiohead is the main focus of these upcoming shows, it's worth mentioning that the band's musical identity is deeply rooted in all its members. In addition to their work with Radiohead, some members have been involved in separate projects. One such project is The Smile, a collaboration between Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, and jazz drummer Tom Skinner.
The Smile was formed in 2022 and has toured internationally between 2022 and 2024, including planned European concerts in July 2024. Unfortunately, due to Jonny Greenwood's illness requiring intensive care, these concerts had to be cancelled. Greenwood is a member of both Radiohead and The Smile.
Despite the setback, drummer Philip Selway, a member of Radiohead, stated that rehearsing together last year felt good, and the band is looking forward to this tour. Drummer Tom Skinner, known for his contributions to The Smile, brings his drumming expertise to the group, blending rock, electronic, and experimental music elements.
In addition to the Berlin concerts, Radiohead has planned sixteen more shows this winter in Madrid, Bologna, London, and Copenhagen. These concerts are part of a tour that follows a several-year hiatus, making them a must-see event for fans of the iconic band.
For those who missed The Smile's planned European concerts in July 2024, this tour offers a second chance to experience the unique sound and energy of these talented musicians. Fans are encouraged to register for tickets as soon as possible to secure their place at these unforgettable shows.
