Obituary: Robert E. "Bob" Garman
Robert E. "Bob" Garman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated community member, passed away on August 21, 2025, at his residence in Bainbridge, Pennsylvania. He was 75 years old.
Born in Elizabethtown, Bob was the son of Calvin and Florence Garman. He was a graduate of Elizabethtown High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1964-1965.
After his military service, Bob began a long and distinguished career at Armstrong World Industries, where he worked for 31 years before retiring.
Bob was a dedicated member of Bainbridge Church of God since 1971. He served as a deacon, treasurer, and taught Sunday school. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he touched the lives of many through his service and kindness.
Bob was married to Phyllis (Loucks) Garman for 57 years. Together, they raised three children: Melissa Kiss, Melinda Garman, and Michelle Zimmerman. Bob was also a proud grandfather to Ryan Kiss. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, his children, grandson, sister Nancy Parmer, and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his brothers Thomas and Karl Garman.
The memorial service for Bob will be held at Bainbridge Church of God, 7 North 2nd Street, Bainbridge, PA 17502, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 2 PM. Family and friends will be received at the church before the service from 1 PM to 2 PM.
