Roadway State 142 Shut Down
On September 9, 2020, at around 8:30 am, a serious truck accident occurred on the country road between Hoisten and Erfttal. The incident involved a semi-trailer driven by a 72-year-old driver who lost control of the vehicle, causing it to tip over.
The fire department was promptly called to the scene to free the injured driver from the cab. Following the accident, the driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. However, no information about the current condition of the driver has been made available.
Preliminary findings suggest that the driver's crane boom struck a bridge, leading to the accident. The further investigation into the incident was taken over by the traffic commission of the Neuss Police Department in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss.
Unfortunately, the accident caused significant traffic disruptions during rush hour, as the country road had to be closed for rescue, vehicle recovery, and accident investigation. The road closure resulted in delays for many commuters in the area.
