Road Construction on Heinrichsdamm

Heinrichsdamm, a major thoroughfare in the city, will undergo road construction from August 4 to approximately August 19, 2025. The construction work, carried out by Bamberg Services, will take place between Marien- and Luitpoldbrücke.

During this period, the "Wilhelmsplatz" bus stop will be out of service due to the road construction. However, lines 905, 918, 922, and 930 will serve the "Wilhelmsplatz" stop as a temporary measure. City bus lines 920 and 936 will be rerouted inbound to accommodate the construction work. The outbound bus traffic on Heinrichsdamm is not affected by the construction.

Line 936 is expected to resume its normal route on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Similarly, the normal route of bus line 936 will resume on the same day.

The construction work will involve repairing the road surface, drainage ditch, and manhole covers in the construction area as needed. Pedestrian traffic is not affected during the construction.

Vehicular traffic will need to follow a detour via Wilhelmstraße, Friedrichstraße, and Luisenstraße during the construction period. This full closure of Heinrichsdamm is necessary for the construction work to be carried out effectively.

Bamberg Services, responsible for street maintenance and repairing the road surface in the area, including Heinrichsdamm, will conduct the street repair work. Despite the inconvenience caused by the construction, it is essential to ensure the long-term durability and safety of the road infrastructure.

The construction work on Heinrichsdamm between Wilhelmsplatz and Luisenstraße is also scheduled to take place during the same period, with the same responsible party, Bamberg Services. The city appreciates the patience and understanding of its residents and commuters during this time.
