Road closures in Hamburg for upcoming running events during the half marathon
Hamburg Half Marathon Traffic Restrictions Announced
The Hamburg Half Marathon, scheduled to take place on April 21, 2023, is set to bring excitement to the city. However, traffic restrictions will be in effect to ensure a smooth event.
The event area includes the section of Neuwiedenthaler Straße, with a closure between the roundabout and the intersection with Francoper Straße, in one direction towards Bahnhof Neugraben. The marathon route also passes through Neugrabener Allee, Königswiesen, Ackerweg, Am Aschenland, and Geutensweg.
The starting point of the marathon is the CU-Arena in Neugraben, and the turning point is just behind the Organistenweg. The marathon route then leads to Neuenfelde and back, passing through Torfstecherweg, Neuwiedenthaler Straße, Francoper Straße, Hinterdeich, Hohenwischer Straße, Vierzigstücken, Hasselwerder Straße, and Organistenweg.
Local traffic will still be allowed on the affected streets despite the closures. Residents of the Vogelkamp new development area can exit and access the area via Neugrabener Allee (roundabout), Königswiesen/Ackerweg, or Am Aschenland/Geutensweg. It is recommended to avoid the event area by car or to move vehicles out of the affected area before the start.
Traffic restrictions will be in effect from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. The starting shot for the marathon will be at 10 a.m. on the Straße Am Johannisland in front of the BGZ Süderelbe.
