River's ice flow to persist on Vily

In the remote Nürbinsky district of Yakutia, Russia, the Yakutia Emergency Service is carrying out a crucial operation to remove an ice jam on the Vituyi River. The demolition work, which began today, is scheduled to continue until May 15.

The ice jam, which occurred near the island of Сата on the Vituyi River, has posed a significant threat to the local ecosystem and infrastructure. To address this issue, a team of experts, led by Innokentii Androsov, the head of the explosive squad at the Yakutia Emergency Service, has been dispatched to the site.

Alexey Kolesnikov, an explosives specialist, is also involved in the operation. The team is using controlled explosions to break up the ice jam and allow the river to flow freely once again.

The Yakutia Emergency Service reported that an additional flight of explosive experts is planned for May 15, at 11:00, to assist in the operation. The demolition work is a response to the ice jam on the Vituyi River, which is a continuation of an event that occurred on the Вилюй River in Yakutia.

It's important to note that while the ice jam demolition is underway, the ice jam on the Вилюй river is still partially holding in place. The Yakutia Emergency Service will continue to monitor the situation closely and take any necessary actions to ensure the safety of the local community and the protection of the environment.

This operation is a testament to the Yakutia Emergency Service's commitment to maintaining the safety and well-being of its citizens and preserving the natural beauty of its vast territory. The demolition work on the ice jam is a significant step towards restoring the normal flow of the Vituyi River and safeguarding the local ecosystem.
