Revolutionizing India's renowned street cuisine, ANKO unveils the groundbreaking Punjabi Samosa Machine, marking a new era.
In a groundbreaking development for the food industry, Taiwan-based ANKO Food Machine has launched the PS-900, the world's first automated solution for forming authentic Punjabi Samosas. This innovative machine is set to revolutionise the production of one of India's most iconic culinary delights.
The PS-900, designed to meet growing demand without scaling up headcount or compromising on quality, could potentially transform the landscape of Punjabi Samosa production. The machine, capable of producing up to 900 samosas per hour with just two operators required at the forming stage, marks a significant step forward in food automation, according to ANKO's general manager, Richard Ouyang.
While the traditional method of making Punjabi Samosas by hand delivers an authentic texture and shape, it's hard to replicate at scale. The challenge in automating this process has long been the delicate process of stuffing. However, the PS-900 is designed to bridge the gap between handcrafted taste and scalable efficiency.
The global Indian community contributes significantly to remittances and international cultural and economic ties. With a diaspora of 35.4 million people living abroad, India has the world's largest diaspora. Punjabi Samosas, a staple in India, are gaining major traction in markets like the UK, Canada, UAE, Australia, and the US, driven by global demand from the diaspora.
From November 2023 to October 2024, the world exported 5,503 shipments of Punjabi Samosas, showing a 9% growth compared to the previous year. While no prior context was provided, this growth suggests a growing appetite for these delicious treats.
The PS-900 features FDA-compliant contact surfaces and an easy-to-clean structure for efficiency and hygiene. ANKO, Taiwan's longest-established food solution provider, offers integrated food production lines for factories and central kitchens, ensuring seamless automation from ingredient preparation to packing.
To date, ANKO has sold its food production solutions to 114 countries, positioning itself as a global leader in food automation. The PS-900 is poised to further cement ANKO's reputation as a pioneer in the food industry.
As we move towards a more automated future, the PS-900 offers a promising solution for businesses looking to scale up their Punjabi Samosa production without sacrificing quality or tradition. This machine, Richard Ouyang stated, marks a new chapter in food automation.
