Revealed: A fresh look inside the new Mercedes G-Class - the G-Wagen steps into the 21st century
The automotive world is abuzz with excitement as two new additions to Mercedes-Benz's lineup are set to make their debuts at major motor shows.
First up, the highly anticipated Mercedes-AMG G63 is set to make its appearance at the Geneva Motor Show, less than a month away. This high-performance variant of the G-Class boasts a powerful 4.0 litre V8 Turbo engine, producing an impressive 577 bhp. Inside, the new G-Class retains its boxy, utilitarian look, but with a growth in size. The interior features leather upholstery, wood trim, heated seats, and a good sound system, with a Burmester option available. Although the classic analogue dials are still an option if desired, the new interior will feature a pair of big screens to replace the old infotainment system. These screens come with haptic feedback and swipe controls for a modern touch.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz is preparing the development of a new G-Class SUV for its official debut at the Shanghai Motor Show 2018. The Mercedes GLB SUV is a new addition to the brand's SUV lineup, and is expected to be unveiled in concept form at the Shanghai Motor Show this month. Details about the GLB's performance and features are scarce, but it is expected to follow in the footsteps of Mercedes' latest models, like the new E-Class, in terms of design and technology.
