A Modern Glimpse of the London Strip: The Redevelopment of the Trocadero

London's vibrant hospitality scene is set to welcome a new addition, as the historic Trocadero is transformed into a modern casino and hospitality complex. The project, undertaken by property development company Apsley House Capital, aims to create a unique leisure destination that will compete with some of the city's most renowned entertainment venues.

The redevelopment will maintain the Trocadero's architectural facades and heritage details, ensuring a harmonious blend of old and new. This sustainable retrofit is part of a larger vision for the area, which is being positioned as a "London Strip".

The casino will employ a comprehensive management strategy for safety and responsibility, with 24/7 CCTV, trained door staff, and an age restriction for entry (customers must be 25 years old and above). This approach underscores the commitment to providing a secure and responsible gaming environment.

The project is expected to generate up to 350 jobs, with a focus on training and career development opportunities, particularly for young people joining the hospitality industry. This focus on nurturing talent aligns with the company's commitment to fostering a skilled workforce.

The venue will offer a multi-level experience. The ground floor will host a restaurant opening onto Coventry Street, providing a lively hub for both diners and passersby. The first floor will feature a more formal dining space, capable of operating independently or as part of the casino experience.

Additional basement facilities will cater to casino guests, adding depth and variety to the site's offerings. This multi-level design promises to make the Trocadero a destination where visitors can enjoy a diverse range of experiences under one roof.

In this competitive landscape, the Trocadero will join the ranks of notable venues such as The Hippodrome, Empire Casino Leicester Square, and Horizons Casinos, all of which operate 24 hours a day. As London's nightlife continues to evolve, the Trocadero's redevelopment promises to be a significant addition to the city's entertainment offerings.

Genting, a company with extensive experience in the UK hospitality industry, operates 28 properties across the country, including four in Mayfair. Their involvement in the Trocadero project underscores the confidence in its potential success and the company's commitment to bringing high-quality entertainment to London.

As the transformation of the Trocadero unfolds, Londoners and visitors alike can look forward to a new addition to the city's vibrant nightlife scene. The project represents an exciting step forward in the evolution of London's entertainment landscape.
