World Poker Tour (WPT) Announces Exciting Lineup for 2025 Events

The World Poker Tour (WPT) has revealed an action-packed schedule for its 2025 series, promising a thrilling experience for poker enthusiasts worldwide.

The highlight of the series is the WPT World Championship, a significant event in the poker community that takes place annually in December. This year, the event boasts a buy-in of $10,400 and a starting stack of 100k. The WPT World Championship offers a wide variety of poker games, including 5-card PLO, Big-O, Mystery Bounty, O8, O8/Stud8 Mix, Mixed Limits 2-7, and numerous No-Limit Hold'em (NLH) games.

The WPT World Championship does not have a guaranteed prize pool, but with the large number of expected entries, the prize pool is expected to eclipse the guarantees. Last year's WPT World Championship had nearly 2,400 entries, creating a prize pool just shy of $23.5 million.

Another exciting event in the series is the WPT Prime Championship, with a buy-in of $1,100 and a starting stack of 40k. The WPT Prime Championship guarantees a prize pool of $5 million, and with the expected high number of entries, the prize pool is expected to exceed this amount. The blinds for this event are set at 40/60 minutes.

The WPT Prime Championship follows a three-day structure, with Day 2 on Dec 11, Day 3 on Dec 12, and the TV Final Table on Dec 20. In contrast, the WPT World Championship will have three starting flights on Dec 13, 14, and 15.

The WPT series features huge guarantees across all games, with nearly every event having a prize pool promise attached. For instance, the WPT Ladies NLH Championship has a $250k guarantee, and a new poker format, TORSE, will be introduced at the WPT World Championship with a $50k guarantee. A second TORSE Championship game will also take place with a $150k guarantee.

The 2025 WPT World Championship series is expected to be the second-biggest major tour stop of the year in Las Vegas, running from Dec 2 to the final days before Christmas. The series promises to deliver an unforgettable poker experience to all participants.

Last year, Tirza Sanders won the WPT Ladies NLH Championship, taking home a prize of over $90k. As for the winner of the WPT World Championship 2025, they are yet to be crowned, with the event still months away.

The WPT continues to make waves in the poker community, offering exciting events with significant guarantees and attracting a large number of entries each year. With the 2025 series just around the corner, poker enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting another exciting instalment of the WPT World Championship.
