Research Opportunities in the Rastriya Anusandhan Bibhag for Research Fellows and Research Assistants in 2082
The Government of Nepal has published a vacancy notice for permanent appointment in the positions of Investigation Officer and Investigation Assistant through open and competitive examinations. The vacancy notice is published by the National Investigation Department (NID), Barmahal, Kathmandu.
The advertisement number for the Investigation Officer post is 01/082/83, and there are 40 total posts, with 22 open and 6 inclusive (Adivasi/Janajati). Similarly, the advertisement number for the Investigation Assistant post is 02/082/83, and there are 50 total posts, with 28 open and 7 inclusive (Adivasi/Janajati).
Candidates for Investigation Officer can apply online through the system available at https://rabvac.nidept.gov.np. Applicants must log in, fill in personal details, and upload required documents. The mandatory documents for online application include a passport-size photograph, Nepali citizenship certificate, signature, educational qualification certificates, and inclusive group certificates (if applicable).
For Investigation Officer, the Kathmandu Examination Center is the only option under the Public Service Commission. On the other hand, candidates for Investigation Assistant can choose from Dhankuta, Jaleshwar, Hetauda, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, Surkhet, or Mahendranagar as their examination center.
The minimum educational qualification for the Investigation Officer post is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university, and for the Investigation Assistant post is a Proficiency Certificate Level or equivalent from a recognized institution.
The application fee for Investigation Officer is NPR 1,200 for one group, with an additional NPR 400 for each extra group, and inclusive-category applicants must pay at least NPR 1,200. For Investigation Assistant, the application fee is NPR 500 for one group, with an additional NPR 150 for each extra group, and inclusive-category applicants must pay at least NPR 500.
Payment methods include online options such as e-Sewa, Connect IPS, and Khalti, as well as offline via Payment Voucher generated in the online system and paid at any branch of Rastriya Banijya Bank.
After verification, the department will issue a roll number and publish a notice on the website, allowing applicants to download and print the admit card. Further details regarding examinations will be published on the Department's official website in coordination with the Public Service Commission after the deadline for double-fee submission.
The examination process for both posts includes a General Knowledge and Intelligence Aptitude Test, Written Examination, Detailed Medical Examination, Aptitude Test, and Interview. Candidates who pass the written exam must undergo a compulsory detailed health check-up at hospitals/health institutions designated by the National Investigation Department.
The age limit for the Investigation Officer post is 21-25 years for males, 21-30 years for females, and up to 35 years for NID employees. For the Investigation Assistant post, the age limit is 18-25 years for males, 18-30 years for females, and up to 35 years for NID employees.
On May 13, 2082 (Nepali calendar), the government of Nepal announced the availability of positions at the Rastriya Anusandhan Bibhag for the roles of Anusandhan Adhikrit (Research Officer) and Anusandhan Sahayak (Research Assistant). The deadline for regular submission is within 30 days from the date of first publication in Gorkhapatra, with an additional 7 days to submit with double fees. The deadline is up to 2082/06/12 for regular submission and up to 2082/06/19 for late submission with double fees.
