In the quiet town of Schiffdorf, located in the Cuxhaven region, a series of road incidents and suspected drunk driving cases have been reported over the past few days.

On the night of August 15-16, 2025, an unknown perpetrator forced open a garage door in Meersenweg, Schiffdorf-Spaden, resulting in the theft of two electric bikes worth approximately €2500. No further details about the e-bikes or the perpetrator are known at this time.

A hit-and-run accident involving a dark Volkswagen Polo with Cuxhaven county license plates occurred on Feldstraße in Schiffdorf around 10:30 PM on August 16. The vehicle, which was reportedly driving at a speed much higher than the permitted 30 km/h, hit an e-scooter and an e-bike, causing minor damage to both vehicles. The driver of the Volkswagen Polo fled the scene.

The actions of the Volkswagen Polo driver caused gravel on the road to be thrown up, which then hit an agricultural tractor and a car involved in a separate hit-and-run accident on County Road 62 between Elmlohe and Kührstedt at approximately 09:45 AM on the same day.

In a separate incident, a traffic accident occurred on Welle Street on August 16, resulting in minor injuries to a 71-year-old e-bike rider. An investigation was initiated for driving without a license in addition to suspected drunk driving.

On August 17, at approximately 03:00 AM, a driver without a license was found driving under the influence in Schiffdorf-Sellstedt. A control test and a blood sample were taken from the driver, and an administrative offense procedure was initiated.
