Renewed housing development in Nievenheim: Construction of 47 subsidized homes on the site of a former public pool
In the heart of Nievenheim, Dormagen, a new residential quarter is taking shape. The project, developed by WORADO Wohnungsbaugesellschaft, promises 47 subsidized housing units that cater to a wide spectrum of eligible tenants.
Spread across five buildings, the construction project covers a total of 3,794 square meters of living space. The apartments offer a diverse mix of two-, three-, and four-room units, all barrier-free and accessible via spacious elevator facilities.
The project's eco-friendly approach is evident in its heating system. All buildings will be heated via air-water heat pumps with floor heating, ensuring energy efficiency and comfort.
The rental prices for WBS-A apartments are 6.65 euros per square meter, while those for WBS-B recipients are 7.55 euros per square meter. A total of 1,932 square meters are at the WBS-A standard, and 1,862 square meters at the WBS-B standard.
Pellikaan Bauunternehmung from Ratingen serves as the general contractor for the project, ensuring high-quality construction. The project also includes a photovoltaic system, battery storage system, green roofing, and ecological solid wood construction using modular wooden elements.
The outdoor areas of the new residential quarter include green spaces, a playground, and 40 parking spaces, prepared for electric mobility.
The completion will be phased: Houses one to three will be ready for occupancy in October 2025, with houses four and five following in January 2026.
This ecologically oriented residential quarter is set to become a valuable addition to the city of Dormagen, offering a sustainable living solution for its citizens.
