Renault Frères 2024 Innovation Awards: Highlighting the Innovative Ideas of Employees
Renault Group Honours Innovation Pioneers at 2024 Innovation Awards
The Renault Group has celebrated the spirit of innovation within the company by hosting the Renault Frères Innovation Awards 2024. The event, now in its fourth year, was initiated by Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault Group, and Gilles Le Borgne, the former CTO of the Group.
This year, the competition saw an impressive 300 candidates vying for recognition, with 9 winning teams ultimately being selected. The common denominator for these teams was their proposals for recently applied innovations that concretely improve the efficiency of the Group or bring a visible and relevant plus for clients.
One of the standout winners was the Emblem demo-car, the vehicle Renault presented at the Paris Motor Show 2024. Emblem aims for a 360° carbon-neutral mobility, emitting 90% less CO (CO equivalent) compared to a vehicle produced today, throughout its entire life cycle.
Another notable winner was Mobilize V2G, a bidirectional charging system that was awarded the gold trophy in the Technology category. This system can prioritize charges during off-peak hours and restore energy to the electrical network during peak hours.
In the Industry category, Plant Connect, a revolutionary tool that allows visualization of major indicators and exploitation of data collected by the industrial metaverse, was honoured. It helps with real-time factory management.
The Dacia Live Appointments, offering a unique customer experience, also received recognition. This service allows personalized video appointments to discover a new vehicle when it's not yet available in the showroom.
XR Kitting, using virtual immersion and digital twin to optimize the design of storage and handling areas for parts, and MP4AI, a quality inspection tool using Augmented Intelligence to detect anomalies more efficiently on production lines, were also among the winners.
The U1st Vision, a modular vehicle that brings services where they are needed or absent, was also recognised. The medical configuration presented at Vivatech last May, for preventive care, diagnostics, and disease follow-up, was particularly noteworthy.
The Renault Frères Innovation Awards 2024 winners can be found on the Renault Group website for more information. Jean-Dominique Senard, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Renault Group, Luca de Meo, and the members of the Top Management were present to hand over the trophies and congratulate the winners.
Looking ahead, the Group aims for an annual increase of at least 20% in its patent filings between 2021 and 2026, reflecting the Group's commitment to innovation and upheaval in the current automotive industry.
However, there is no information available about who awarded the special prize of the Renault Frères Innovation Awards to the Emblem demonstration vehicle in 2024.
