Reinforcing School Measures to Combat Bullying and Cyberbullying Among Adolescents
In the vibrant city of Nur-Sultan, a proactive approach is being taken to address the issue of juvenile delinquency. The operational-prophylactic event "Teenager" is regularly held to prevent teenage crime and reduce its occurrence.
During this event, police patrol courtyards, streets, parks, shopping centers, and other public places. Their presence is aimed at ensuring a safe environment for the city's youth.
The practice of organising sports and cultural events to engage youth in positive environments is expanding. These events serve as platforms for educating young minds about the consequences of illegal actions, bullying, and cyberbullying.
Starting in September, preventive lectures for high school students and meetings with families of at-risk children will be held in schools. The aim is to educate students about the dangers of alcohol and tobacco use, and the legal consequences.
The leaders of the mobile groups deployed in Nur-Sultan schools to prevent youth crime are specialists from the Youth Law Enforcement Service and the School Police. These groups now include representatives from relevant agencies, deputy district akims, city education department staff, psychological support center specialists, and sports community representatives.
The akimat has highlighted insufficient parental control as a cause of juvenile crime. Parents are advised to closely monitor their children's activities, peers, and leisure time. If parents suspect their children are involved in criminal activities, they are advised to immediately contact the police.
A meeting chaired by Deputy Akim of Nur-Sultan, Eshet Baiken, was held at the Al-Farabi Palace of Schoolchildren to discuss the organization of mobile group work. The meeting saw the participation of representatives of oversight and law enforcement agencies.
Priority tasks for mobile groups in the new academic year have been identified. These include continuous monitoring of at-risk students, joint patrols with educators, parent committees, and the police, and the identification of minors who are on the street unaccompanied by adults.
Mobile group work will be conducted on a continuous, systematic basis. New digital services for quick communication between students, parents, and juvenile inspectors are also being launched to facilitate this work.
The city of Nur-Sultan is taking significant steps to ensure the safety and well-being of its youth. The "Teenager" event and the formation of mobile groups are part of a larger effort to create a positive, crime-free environment for the city's young population.
