Regional Train's Shopping Cart Stationed in Brandenburg am Havel

A regional train traveling from Frankfurt (Oder) to Magdeburg collided with a shopping cart at a level crossing near Brandenburg an der Havel early Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 1:30 AM between the stations of Goetz and Brandenburg Hauptbahnhof.

Fortunately, no passengers were injured due to the emergency braking. Approximately 20 passengers were on board the train at the time of the collision. No further damage was initially reported beyond some scratches. The shopping cart was lodged beneath the train's engine after the collision.

The Federal Police are investigating the incident on suspicion of endangering railway traffic. The suspect named by the federal police in the investigation is Benjamin K. Witnesses are asked to contact the Federal Police for information regarding persons leaving the shopping cart.
