Regional authorities advocate for unity by offering instruction in the care and cloth manufacturing industry
In the district of Regensburg, efforts are being made to integrate asylum seekers into the workforce. District Administrator Tanja Schweiger is leading these initiatives, which aim to create prospects for participants and strengthen the skilled workforce base in the region.
One of the district's strategies is to facilitate visits to companies and institutions for training and insights. These visits have been organized by the education acquisition officer of the district, Mahinar Sweid, and the economic developer of the district, Roland Weiß. The contact for economic development in the district can be reached at 0941 4009-593 and [email protected].
Asylum seekers who, for legal reasons, cannot obtain a work permit are introduced to 80-cent jobs by the district. This is a crucial step towards integration and securing skilled workers in the region, according to District Administrator Tanja Schweiger.
The district's measures for bringing refugees into work and integrating asylum seekers into the regional job market also include job dating events at the district office and a job fair for foreign auxiliary and service staff.
Training contracts and internships have been concluded with migrants willing to train in various sectors. For instance, four migrants visited the company Fahnen Koßinger in Schierling to learn about prospects in the textile industry. Jasmin Wagner, team leader of embroidery at Fahnen Koßinger, is pleased with this form of staff recruitment, as it helps counteract the shortage of skilled workers and trainees.
In the care sector, eight migrants visited a senior and retirement home, and a blind institute in Hemau to gain insights into care work and start training. Christian Scheuerer from the management of the retirement home and Davis Fries from the management of the blind institute view these staff recruitment opportunities positively.
District Administrator Tanja Schweiger is proud to be able to offer participants new opportunities and support companies in the district at the same time. She emphasizes that targeted training offers in the care sector create prospects for participants and strengthen the skilled workforce base in the region.
Our organization supports the integration of migrants through targeted training and employment offers, having already visited several companies from various industries. This approach is essential in creating a diverse and skilled workforce that can contribute to the district's economic development.
For those interested in learning more about the district's economic development or education acquisition, Mr. Weiß can be reached at 0941 4009-593 and [email protected], while Mrs. Sweid can be reached at 0941 4009-8407.
