The Crescent Innovation project, a new development plan in partnership with English Cities Fund and the University of Salford, is set to revolutionise the city. If approved, work on this ambitious project is scheduled to begin by the end of the year, with a projected timeline of 10 years.

The project spans over 240 acres and aims to create a high-quality innovation environment. The first phase of the project will develop 933 new homes, 71,000 sq ft of learning facilities, 25,000 sq ft for retail and dining establishments, a gym, and a 'movement hub'. Additionally, the phase will introduce multiple green space facilities, totaling 1.4m sq ft of commercial floorspace.

The Crescent Innovation North proposals strive to create world-class research and development facilities, positioning Salford as a hub for innovation. The project's vision is to benefit local people and businesses, with the goal of creating a 'high-potential' area.

The current mayor of Salford, Paul Dennett, is deeply involved in the project. If the project is approved, it may change the face of the Crescent area, providing over 2,650 homes in total.

The Crescent Innovation project is a key element of the wider vision for the Crescent area. The project's partnership with English Cities Fund and the University of Salford signifies a commitment to fostering a vibrant, innovative, and sustainable community.

The first phase of the project is estimated to cost around £2.5bn. If all goes as planned, the Crescent Innovation project will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on Salford, contributing to its growth and development for years to come.
