Now, let's dive into the history of this invigorating cocktail. The Corpse Reviver #2 was first published in the Savoy Cocktail Book by Harry Craddock. However, before this publication, the cocktail was popularised by bartender Harry MacElhone at Harry's New York Bar in Paris.

To prepare the Corpse Reviver #2, you'll need the following ingredients:

  • 30ml gin
  • 30ml Lillet Blanc
  • 30ml Cointreau
  • 30ml lemon juice
  • 1 egg white (optional)
  • Absinthe

Start by shaking the first four ingredients (gin, Lillet Blanc, Cointreau, and lemon juice) with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. If you prefer a frothy texture, add the egg white and shake again without ice.

Finally, to give your Corpse Reviver #2 an authentic touch, dash or spritz the drink's surface with absinthe.
