Reflection on the Year: "2020" Overview
Princeton Alumni Share Insights on Post-Graduation Life
In a series of interviews under the section "Plans After Graduation", former Princeton students Jalisha Braxton '16, Emma Kaeser '18, and Nicholas Wu '18 have shared their experiences and the impact Princeton has had on their lives and future choices.
Jalisha Braxton, now the Natural Sciences Correspondent, met with a Princeton-bound senior at her old high school. Braxton, who felt a great sense of pride knowing that someone else from her small town would be attending an Ivy League school, encouraged the incoming class to let Princeton be their window to the world and to fearlessly pursue their heart's desires.
Braxton's undergrad years at Princeton were transformative. She completed an entire thesis, studied abroad in Europe and Asia, and decided to spend the next 5+ years in a graduate program in the city of Chicago. Before attending Princeton, Braxton had never written a paper longer than 10-15 pages, traveled outside of the U.S., or imagined a life for herself outside of her small town.
Emma Kaeser '18 and Nicholas Wu '18, both former Princeton students, have also been interviewed about their post-graduation lives. Kaeser will be attending Harvard University after her graduation from Princeton, while Wu's future plans are yet to be announced.
These interviews demonstrate the impact Princeton has on its students' lives and future choices. They provide a glimpse into the endless possibilities that can stem from a Princeton education. The diverse career and life choices made by the alumni highlighted in these interviews serve as a source of inspiration for current Princeton students considering their own post-graduation plans.
Very few people from Jalisha Braxton's small town have attended schools in the Ivy League. Braxton's journey from her small town to Princeton and beyond is a testament to the opportunities that can be opened up by a Princeton education.
In conclusion, the lives of these Princeton alumni serve as a testament to the transformative power of a Princeton education. Their stories provide insights into the lives of Princeton alumni after graduation and inspire current students to dream big and pursue their heart's desires.
