Reduced Speed Violations in Schools and Daycares Post-Holiday: A 2.3% Excess Remains
In collaboration with Vellmar city and Kaufungen municipality, the Kassel police conducted speed checks at schools and a kindergarten in the Kassel district on Monday. A total of 3,451 vehicles passed through the four checkpoints during the operation, which took place between 7:00 AM and 1:15 PM.
The speed checks were carried out at Grundschule Obervellmar, Astrid-Lindgren-Schule in Niestetal, kindergarten in Helsa-Eschenstruth, and Theodor-Heuss-Schule in Baunatal. During the checks, speeding was detected 80 times, with one driver caught traveling at 52 km/h instead of the permitted 30 km/h. This driver will now face a fine and a point on their license.
