"Redevelopment blueprinting session for August-Bebelplatz and Weseler Straße, Duisburg-Marxloh: Strengthening the Northern district"
The city of Duisburg-Marxloh is hosting a planning workshop for August-Bebel-Platz and Weseler Straße on Thursday, September 11, from 6 PM to 8 PM. The event, which will take place on-site at Campus Marxloh, Paulskirche 6, is open to all citizens and requires no registration.
The aim of the workshop is to prioritise the needs of users in the planning and design of these areas. The organisers seek to co-design August-Bebel-Platz and Weseler Straße with the community, providing an opportunity for citizens to influence the future design of the spaces.
At the workshop, attendees can learn about the current draft of the design, engage in open and creative discussions, and share their visions for the areas. The winning landscape architecture firm from the planning competition will be present to answer questions and offer insights into their design.
The workshop encourages active participation, with attendees encouraged to contribute additional suggestions for the final planning phase. Possible topics for discussion include new plantings, seating areas, and a planned water feature. Project managers of "Strong in the North" will also be present to answer questions related to the project.
To make the event more accessible for families, free childcare will be provided during the workshop. The event promises to be a space for discussion, exchange, and shared visions, as well as an opportunity to collectively develop ideas and requirements for the future design of August-Bebel-Platz and Weseler Straße.
Citizens are invited to participate in the planning and shaping of the future of these important city spaces. Whether you have a passion for urban design or simply want to contribute to the betterment of your community, this workshop is an excellent opportunity to make a difference. Join us on September 11 and help shape the future of Duisburg-Marxloh.
