Redesigned 2026 Subaru Outback Delivers Enhanced Technology

The automaker Subaru has unveiled the seventh generation of its popular midsize SUV, the Outback, which is set to hit U.S. dealerships later this year. Since its debut in 1995, the Outback has become a cornerstone of Subaru's brand and has sold over 3 million units in the United States.

The 2026 Outback features a more upright and assertive design, with a full-width light signature and an embossed Subaru logo on the lower tailgate. The interior is designed for practicality and modern connectivity, with every trim level coming standard with a 12.1-inch multimedia touchscreen.

The Outback will be offered in six trims: Premium, Limited, Touring, Limited XT, Touring XT, and Wilderness. The base model, the Premium, starts at $34,995 before destination fees and includes 18-inch wheels, a power rear gate, water-repellent StarTex upholstery, heated front seats, and a comprehensive suite of EyeSight driver-assistance features.

The Limited trim, priced at $41,715, adds perforated leather seating, a Harman Kardon audio system, a moonroof, and heated rear seats. The Touring trim, priced at $45,395, enhances comfort with ventilated front seats, Nappa leather options, a 12-way power driver's seat, and additional highway-assist features.

For off-road enthusiasts, the Wilderness trim, priced at $44,995, includes unique bumpers, all-terrain tires, dual-mode X-Mode with hill descent control, and 9.5 inches of clearance. Optional packages for the Outback include moonroofs, navigation systems, wireless chargers, and, on the Wilderness, Nappa leather-appointed seats.

The Limited XT and Touring XT trims feature the turbocharged engine, larger wheels, and surround-view monitoring, with prices beginning at $44,365 and $47,995 respectively.

Two new colours, Deep Emerald Green Pearl and River Rock Pearl, debut for the 2026 Outback, each carrying a $395 premium. The new model will be assembled in Gunma, Japan, and will reach U.S. dealerships before year's end, with the Wilderness model following in early 2026.

The 2026 Outback is set to continue the legacy of Subaru's defining vehicle in North America, offering a blend of practicality, modern features, and off-road capabilities for a wide range of consumers.
