In a recent incident at Greifswald station, a 16-year-old German individual found themselves in a sticky situation when they were stuck in an elevator on platform 2. The Federal Police Inspectorate Pasewalk, along with the Joint German-Polish Station Pomellen, played a crucial role in rescuing the individual.

Employees from the GWS managed to free the person, and temporarily shut down the elevator for safety measures. However, the incident raised suspicions as the person was suspected of causing the situation by kicking the elevator. The individual denied the allegation.

Investigations revealed that the person had a record of offenses, including theft, threat, and armed robbery. The bicycle the person was carrying was reported missing since 09.07.2025 by the Police Presidency of Duisburg. However, no information in the search results attributes the stolen bicycle to this specific person, nor is there any mention of them being seen with the bicycle in the city of Anklam.

The Federal Police Inspectorate Pasewalk, one of the operational units under the command of the Federal Police Directorate Bad Bramstedt, was involved in the incident. The Federal Police Directorate Bad Bramstedt is responsible for border police protection of the federal territory, railway police tasks, and border, maritime, and environmental police tasks in the North and Baltic Seas. It is the only Federal Police Directorate with a maritime component, "Federal Police Sea," to monitor the sea border in the North and Baltic Seas.

The Federal Police Directorate Bad Bramstedt has operational units in Flensburg, Kiel, Rostock, Stralsund, and Pasewalk, as well as a Federal Police Inspectorate for Combating Crime in Rostock and a Mobile Control and Surveillance Unit. After consultation with the Criminal Investigation Department of the State Police, the bicycle was seized and handed over to Greifswald Police Station.

The 16-year-old was released after the measures were completed, including a criminal complaint for suspected fencing. The individual claimed to have purchased the bicycle from a "Steven" in Anklam for 150 EUR on 11.08.2025.
