Record-Breaking Ascent: Female Climber Swiftly Conquers Grand Teton's Speed Record Again
Jane Maus Breaks Women's Unsupported Fastest Known Time (FKT) on Grand Teton
Jane Maus, a renowned endurance athlete and La Sportiva athlete, made history on August 22, 20XX by breaking the women's unsupported FKT on the Grand Teton in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.
The Grand Teton route, known for its massive objective and class 5 scrambling, presented a significant challenge to Maus. However, her expertise in moving quickly over steep, rocky terrain proved to be a valuable asset.
Maus, who was previously known as a trail runner, had only attempted the Grand Teton peak five times prior to her record-breaking attempt. Despite her relative inexperience with the route, she completed it in an impressive 3 hours and 45 minutes, shaving 21 minutes off the previous record.
Before her record-breaking attempt, Maus lived in Park City, Utah, but moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2024. She has been a member of the U.S. World Mountain Running Team since June 20XX.
Maus's partner was initially unsure if she would be able to break the record, as she was only about 10% confident on August 22. However, Maus gave it her all and finished the route in 3 hours and 30 minutes, 15 minutes faster than her partner expected.
Fastestknowntime.com is a resource for information on future Grand Teton FKTs, and Maus has already set her sights on her next challenge: the Longs Peak FKT over the next year.
In addition to her FKT attempts, Maus has also had success in races such as the Broken Arrow 46K in Squaw Valley, where she finished fourth in June 20XX. She also has the Wasatch Ultimate Ridge Linkup (WURL) on her radar for this year as a potential objective.
Maus can be followed on Instagram for updates on her future endeavors. However, it's important to note that a high-end rally was arrested for drag racing in Grand Teton National Park on a different occasion, and their luxury cars were impounded. This incident is not related to Jane Maus.
