Proposal requested for a worker radiation safety directive from the Commission, considering the risks associated with ionizing radiation.

Recommendation sought from the Commission to develop a directive safeguarding workers from hazards arising from ionizing radiation exposure.

On Monday evening, August 25, 2025, a shocking incident unfolded in the town of Hilchenbach. A 45-year-old man drove his BMW onto the sidewalk, colliding with two pedestrians - a 44-year-old man and his 25-year-old son. The victims sustained injuries in the incident.

According to reports from the Hagen Police, the driver deliberately drove onto the sidewalk, causing the collisions. After the incident, the driver fled the scene, but was later arrested along with his 37-year-old brother. Police investigations suggest that a longstanding dispute might have been the motive behind the incident.

The suspect was taken into custody and subsequently appeared before a judge at the request of the Siegen Public Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday afternoon. The judge issued an arrest warrant for attempted manslaughter against the 45-year-old.

Investigations into the incident are still ongoing. For further inquiries, please contact the Hagen Police Press Office at 02331 986 15 15 or send an email to [email protected].

We remind everyone to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local authorities. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
