Real estate investment specialist discusses the persistent Spanish property market bubble, warning it could lead to widespread damage: "It threatens to wipe out everything"

In a recently published interview, Sergio Gutierrez, co-founder of Excellence Real Estate Circle and a renowned real estate expert, issued warnings about a worsening housing crisis in Spain, particularly after the summer. However, there are no specific mentions of warnings by him about a tourism "bubble" in Spain in the search results.

Recently, in one of his latest videos on TikTok, Sergio Gutierrez warned about the dangers of a "bubble" in Spain's tourism. His warnings have been echoed by many users on his video, expressing concerns about the current state of tourism in the country.

Spain, one of the major tourist destinations in Europe, shattered all its tourist records in 2024, with a staggering 94 million visitors. The massive influx of tourists has led to overcrowding in many tourist areas, causing price increases and deterioration of the quality of local life for some citizens.

Some international media have begun advising against traveling to Spain due to overcrowding, and a decline in tourists could spell an absolute disaster for Spain's economy. The total spending by foreign tourists in Spain reached a record of 126.282 million euros in 2024.

Sergio Gutierrez believes that the tourism "bubble" is something that "no one wants to stop". He refers to the "bubble" as the tourism sector itself, which has been growing at an unprecedented rate. Many experts have been warning about the dangers of Spain's dependence on tourism and the overcrowding of some destinations within Spanish geography.

One user criticized that Spain won't be prepared to do anything else if the tourism bubble bursts. Another Spanish internet user is currently experiencing the massification in Gijón, where it's difficult to find available dinner reservations or a place to get coffee due to overcrowding. Some users lament that Spain has become a "country of servants" due to the tourism bubble.

Sergio Gutierrez has also been issuing recommendations on the housing sector on his social media, pointing out the potential risks of a worsening housing crisis. As the tourism "bubble" continues to inflate, it remains to be seen how Spain will navigate this challenging situation.
