Headline: Broadband Expansion in Rommerskirchen and Rhein-Kreis Neuss Set to Eliminate "White Spots"

The rural areas of Rommerskirchen and Rhein-Kreis Neuss are set to receive a significant upgrade in their digital infrastructure, thanks to a joint effort between the federal government, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and Deutsche Telekom.

The broadband expansion project, aimed at eliminating "white spots" in these areas, has received €7.9 million in funding from the federal funding program, co-financed by the state.

In Rommerskirchen, construction work for the broadband network has been completed, and the network is expected to go live imminently. Over two distribution points in the municipality, 20 eligible addresses with 86 residential units will receive a fiber optic connection. This expansion will primarily serve rural farmsteads, an animal shelter, and a railway museum.

Meanwhile, in Rhein-Kreis Neuss, the broadband network connection is expected to be operational by the end of 2025. The project began with a groundbreaking ceremony in May of the previous year.

Recent site visits by Landrat Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke, Mayor Dr. Martin Mertens, Marina Tressel, and Martin Philipp from Deutsche Telekom's West Technical Branch have confirmed the progress of the projects.
