Ranking of Chocolate Bars, from Least Favorite to Most Loved by Customers
In the world of chocolate, opinions vary as much as the flavours themselves. A recent survey among shoppers has uncovered some surprising favourites and less-than-favourable choices.
Starting with the beloved, Trader Joe's 72% chocolate bars have garnered praise from many. These bars are often described as a palate refresher after a meal, making them a popular choice among chocolate enthusiasts.
However, when it comes to the most votes, the winner is Tony's, a smaller chocolate company offering quality. This brand's bars are compared to Wonka bars in appearance, and they are consistently praised as top-notch. One Redditor even declared Tony's as their preferred choice.
Aldi's Moser Roth Chocolate is another contender, with buyers describing it as delicious and affordable. What sets it apart is that it's made in Austria or Germany, contributing to its European charm.
European chocolate seems to be a favourite among shoppers, with Aldi offering it at a good price. Lindt, a brand consistently praised for its quality, is no exception. While domestic production of Lindt is not as highly regarded, its foreign counterparts continue to receive accolades.
On the other hand, Hershey's Milk Chocolate is not a favourite among true chocolate lovers. One Redditor went as far as saying they'd rather eat a salad, while another described it as "close to inedible." Another shopper found Mr. Beast Feastables "edible" but noted they "probably wouldn't eat it even if given for free." Mr. Beast Feastables is not well-liked by chocolate connoisseurs, with one shopper describing it as "tasting like cheap supermarket chocolate."
In a positive note, Dove is an "average, commercial chocolate that's better than Hershey's" according to some chocolate lovers.
The most popular chocolate bar among buyers is produced by the company Tony's Chocolonely, which is recognised for its sustainable and fair-trade practices. This company has been nominated for the German Sustainability Award 2025.
Seven chocolate brands that use real cocoa butter were not specified in this survey, leaving room for further exploration and appreciation of the world's finest chocolates.
