Radical Nazis' Head Sentenced to Imprisonment in Berlin Court

A 24-year-old neo-Nazi in Berlin has started serving a three-year and three-month prison sentence, following his conviction by the Berlin Regional Court on April 9, 2025. The neo-Nazi, who holds a leading position in the right-wing extremist group "German Youth Forward" (Deutsche Jugend Wandel), was accused of four crimes that occurred within about two months in late August 2024.

The neo-Nazi was arrested during raids in the right-wing extremist scene on October 23, 2024, and remained in pre-trial detention until the verdict. During the trial, he admitted his guilt and expressed regret for his actions, stating that his political views were "quite clear."

The neo-Nazi was convicted for charges including dangerous bodily harm, threats, and coercion. The victims of his attacks were politically opposed to him. Three of the crimes involved attacks on men due to his right-wing extremist ideology. One of the crimes involved sending a death threat to a woman who left his group.

The prison where he is serving his sentence is an open facility in Berlin-Spandau. Prior to his arrest, he was accompanied by around 30 neo-Nazis to the prison, as reported by The Tagesspiegel.

The neo-Nazi's lawyer, Mirko Schrรถder, confirmed that his client received the order. The neo-Nazi expressed his intention to lead a crime-free life and reduce his alcohol consumption in the future.

Groups like "Young and Strong" and "German Youth Forward" have recently gained national attention for their disruptions at Christopher Street Day events. In Berlin, there have been several neo-Nazi demonstrations, accompanied by large counter-protests.

The NRJ (Neue Rechte Jugend), the right-wing extremist group led by the neo-Nazi, is known for clashes at Christopher Street Day events and neo-Nazi demonstrations in Berlin in recent months. Investigations against the neo-Nazi continue for earlier incidents in October 2024, involving insults and the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations.
