Racehorse recommendations for this coming Saturday, Aug. 30, at Beverley, Chester, and Sandown tracks
Horse Racing Preview: Sandown's 1.50 pm Handicap
Castle Cove, the four-year-old horse, made an impressive winning reappearance on soft ground at Chester in June. Now, the stayer is set to compete in the 1.50 pm handicap at Sandown.
Tom Gibbings, the trainer, is backing the filly named "Escape Route" for this race. Despite losing her last two starts, Escape Route is now an outsider dropped in class to conditions that suit her.
Ellaria Sand, another contender, has useful form to her name but has been beaten on her last two starts. However, Ellaria Sand's conditions should suit on her handicap debut as she returns from a break and drops in class.
Symphony of Joy, a horse with a promising debut at Leicester, should be well-suited by this slightly longer trip. Notably, Symphony of Joy is a brother to Group 3 winner Mighty Ulysses.
Tom Clover's Tabletalk has run some fine races in defeat in Group company this year. With a drop in class, Tabletalk can take advantage of this opportunity and potentially secure a win.
Castle Cove, far from disgraced from further back than ideal at Goodwood last time, may also be a strong contender.
Lil Guff, with form figures at Sandown reading 12312 and all five speed figures around 80, looks sure to run well again at Sandown.
Lastly, Coming Attraction, who won at Chelmsford and has worked well on the watered galop since, could also be a horse to watch in this race.
