In a thrilling race at Zandvoort, Oscar Piastri secured his first career "Grand Slam" and an unexpected surge in the World Championship standings.

Starting from pole, leading every lap, and setting the fastest lap, Piastri dominated the Dutch Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen finishing a close second and Isack Hadjar claiming his first F1 podium in third place.

Unfortunately for Piastri's main rival, Lando Norris, his race ended prematurely due to an unexpected oil leak. This unexpected DNF has allowed Piastri's lead in the championship to swell to a substantial 34 points.

The McLaren and Mercedes drivers continued their strong form, with Lance Stroll finishing in seventh, Fernando Alonso in eighth, and George Russell in fourth. Yuki Tsunoda and Franco Colapinto rounded out the top ten, while Liam Lawson finished in twelfth place.

However, drama unfolded off the track as well. Charles Leclerc collided with George Russell and was taken out of the race by Kimi Antonelli, who later finished in sixteenth place after receiving a 15-second penalty. Lewis Hamilton also failed to finish the race due to a driving error.

In the World Championship standings, the top three positions are now occupied by McLaren and Mercedes drivers. Piastri leads the way with 309 points, followed closely by Norris and Norris's cushion over Max Verstappen remains enormous, at 70 points.

With nine Grands Prix remaining, Piastri will be aiming to maintain his lead and secure his first World Championship title. The next race is the Italian Grand Prix at Monza on 4th September.
