When she's not working on projects or attempting to learn how to DJ as a hobby, Mayer cherishes time with her adorable German shepherd border collie, Elichi. This passion for documenting and celebrating diverse cultures has been deeply informed by her favourite childhood memory – spending time with her grandparents, which has deeply influenced her relationship to culture and land stewardship.

In India, Mayer will be working on a project that will focus on stories of social and environmental justice alongside the fashion supply chain. This project continues her dedication to using fashion as a medium to engage with symbiotic relationships between land, individuals, and culture.

Mayer finds inspiration in the cohort of folks that have led the creation of the first Amazon Union, as well as the guiding principles of the Black Lives Matter movement: low ego, high impact, and lead with love. These values resonate deeply with her, reflecting her own approach to her work and life.

As fall and spring approach, Mayer prefers these transition seasons over beaches, finding solace in the changing colours and the energy that these seasons bring. For her, these seasons symbolise the beauty of change and the promise of new beginnings.
